Renzo is a qualified CPA auditor and a member of the Malta Institute of Accountants. He is also a Henley (University of Reading) MBA alumni and researched financial auditing issues and quality assurance attributes in Malta vis-à-vis other European Member States. Renzo lectures in Advanced Auditing (Paper P7) with BPP Malta, and prepares prospective professionals for their ACCA qualifications. 

Renzo has extensive experience in quality assurance review visits both in Malta and abroad. He also contributed to discussions on the Clarity Project on International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) as a technical member of the ISA Sub-Committee within the European Group of Auditor’s Oversight Bodies (EGAOB). 

Under the trade name of COMPASS, Renzo is providing an array of professional services to auditors including reviewing the practice’s internal procedures, recommending suitable audit tools and providing hands-on training. Renzo is not connected in any way with any auditor, audit firm, or accounting practice and does not hold any audit or accountancy clients.

Renzo has extensive professional experience in auditing, internal audits and audit quality reviews. In fact, he worked as an auditor with one of the ‘big four’ firms, as an internal auditor with the Office of the Prime Minister and as a Quality Assurance Reviewer with the Quality Assurance Unit. Currently, Renzo is also an Assistant Director, Financial Management and Monitoring Unit (FMMU) within Budget Affairs Division, Ministry of Finance, Malta.
